Renowned Poet Doug Holder Discusses New Collaborative Record

Today Poet Doug Holder comes onto the Social Scene to discuss how he has taken on the poetry industry. Doug is a prolific poet and writer originally from Rockville Center, NY . He relocated to the Boston area in his twenties. He was always surrounded by books. Holder started to take on poetry more seriously in his twenties. He then realized he wanted to give a voice to all different kinds of people. His love for poetry was so strong  that he wanted to share that with the world. Holder started as a counselor at the Acclaimed McClain Hospital. There, he created a poetry group for his students to influence them to write about their lives.Doug has taught at Endicott and Bunker Hill Community College teaching writing and creative writing. He has done many audio and video archives that you can find at Harvard University and Buffalo University. In addition, he is also an Arts Editor for the Somerville Times. There,  he interviews local artists and then publishes poems weekly . Doug continues to discuss how the Poetry scene in Boston is very diverse. He runs the Newton library poetry series. Holder states places and recommendations to check out the social scene of poetry and where he runs or attends events!
