NEXTonSCENE with #GIRLBOSS and Muscular Dystrophy Survivor, Keisha Greaves

Today on the podcast we get inspired by the talented #GIRLBOSS behind Girls Chronically Rock , Keisha Greaves!

At the age of 24, Keisha was diagnosed with Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy. Limb-Girdle is a form of MD that affects the limb of the shoulders all the way down to the legs, which progressively overtime eventually gets worse.

In 2009, while Keisha was in graduate school she repeatedly began to fall, and her leg would just give out without notice.

At the time, she would fall to the ground to the point where she would have difficulty picking herself back up and would need assistance.

She also at the time started to notice when she would try to reach for certain things like kitchen cabinets that it was hard for her to get her arm to reach all the way.

What we love MOST is that these life struggles have not stopped this go getter! This past May of 2017 , Keisha wanted to take a struggle in her life and let people know that they can wear it with power and knowledge and share that you are NOT alone in this process.

"I am now the Massachusetts Muscular Dystrophy Ambassador, with this title I go to different speaking engagements, bringing awareness about Muscular Dystrophy and raising money at different events, whether it’s with local stores, the fire fighters help raise money and other events’ can think of that I try to reach out to help raise money for Muscular Dystrophy Association.
